Hello Shanghai

Shanghai is one of those places busting with energy, the buzz of perpetual running around and people going places. If Shanghai were a person, or at least the part of Shanghai I've seen so far, it would likely be drinking lots of coffee, be addicted to work and topping up the coffee with good parties and good drinks at night .. all that while rapidly progressing in his or her career . Ironically, coffee here is not that common here (tear, tear, tear)!

Shanghai is a hyperactive city and those of you who know me probably guessed that means I'm loving it! Since I got here, about three weeks ago, I've had something to do every second of the day and during the few seconds when I didn't, I was soaking up in the buzz of the city. Work in AIESEC with SJTU is great :o) - they're all so cute and nice and wanting to learn and explore that just being around them pushes my excitement up by a mile! I'm doing mostly coaching and training, and a little bit of planning - again, you've probably guessed by now I'm in my element! :o)

Apart from that, I've visited a little bit the city, met lots of people from all over the world, went out every night and altogether had lots of fun. Food is awesome - and too much! - I've had a spicy meal almost every time I ate, and to my surprise, I'm eating more than two meals (real meals) a day - woohoo - let's hope I'm recognisable when I leave! ohh .. and massage - a little treat to enjoy every now and then. Massage seems to be very popular here - I stuck to the non-doggy places ... and on that I shall not expand. Ever taught that a little lady walking all over your back (literally) can be so so relaxing? It might be a good idea to give it a try!

So with all the flavours and buzz, with its stunning diversity and perpetual movement, I got introduced to Shanghai. I planned to post this update two weeks ago - time does fly! In the mean time I've seen the city, I've travelled, meet wonderful people from all over the world, seen art galleries, listened to live jazz and had Guiness in a local Irish pub - the past weeks seem surreal :o)

I shall try to update more often - I am still alive and loving it!

I got extravagant over the weekend. I bought myself a pack of "Moka Arabica" (that's how they spell it) freshly ground and nice and expensive too... :)

But hey, i was pushing it with one year of only instant coffee. I needed the good stuff. URGENTLY!

I can feel the love all the way from Shanghai! ;) (Would you like me to send you a pack?!)

Wow! So Shanghai is kinda like you - coffee, coffee, coffee... always full of energy, new ideas and the only person I know who can sleep 4 hours a day and still be productive! :) Glad to hear about all the new and challenging things that are going on. And massages too! This city sounds quite fitting for you :) Keep on blogging and take good care!
