Tibet, my love :o)

It's official, I am in love. In love with the deep blue sky that feels closer than it's ever been, in love with the magical white clouds that float peacefully so close that I can almost touch them, in love with the deep grey clouds that cool the earth with their sudden rain, in love with the vibrant colours that smile from every corner of this magic land. Above all, I am in love with the warm, ever so human people, their humble smile and the love and peace that drips away from their soul, in a peculiarly tangible aura of bliss.

A magic feeling - being literally on top of the world, between past and present, surrounded in all directions by proud, powerful summits peering through the clouds. Walking on the old, Tibetan, streets of Lhasa, where time seems to desperately try to rest, preserving the warmth of the streets, the humming of prayers, the intoxicating come and go of pilgrims. Even in the warmest sun, the air is fresh and clean, and this city seems to have made its appearance from a far away world, one full of charm and wonder.

This land and its people are truly unique - humming away past centuries it seems, pilgrims come and go, radiating with the warmest smiles I have ever seen; humble, beautiful, human. The streets embrace the eternal come-and-go, with their winding alleys, their beautiful white houses against which a vibrant canvas of sellers, buyers and monks, dressed in all colours of the world, make their way.

Beyond all trouble and turmoil, a peculiar feeling of peace and happiness radiates. This I will steal away, preserve it in my heart.

From Lhasa, with love. :o)
